Napa!!

Sept. 8, 2010 - From our vacation from our vacation in Ukiah, we rolled into Napa for a quick wine tasting and leisurely lunch.  Going south on the 101 we headed east on the 128 toward Napa Valley.  After 72 miles, we stopped in St. Helena, at V. Sattui Winery, recommended from an old school high school girlfriend.  This place was awesome... they had the greatest cheese spread possible and the tastings offered was too good, we ended up ordering half a case to send back.  After our fab experience at V. Sattui, we headed to Yountville for a slightly sophisticated lunch in Cantinetta Piero, inside the Hotel Luca (a total mom and daughter come back spot), followed by a stop over at my favorite bake shop, Bouchon (from the remarkable chef, Thomas Keller).  We could not leave for Berkeley without their to-die-for butter croissants and massive macarons.   Our first ever time in the Napa Valley did not disappoint, we're looking forward to coming back here in this mini-Tuscany tucked away in Northern California.

The cheese at V. Sattui!
Happy with our V. Sattui findings.
