Grand Tetons & Jackson, WY

June 9 - 10, 2010 - Driving south 95 miles on the 191 out of Yellowstone on another rainy day, we reach the awesome Grand Teton National Park and stayed in Jackson, WY.  Although wet and rainy, the drive was spectacular, following the imposing Tetons down the highway to Jackson.  After arriving our hotel, we walked in the rain for dinner in downtown Jackson.  The following day, we drove back to the park and enjoyed a 4 mile hike to Taggart Lake with views of the glacial Tetons in the background.  We hiked quickly as the thunderstorm was getting stronger.  Our drive back to Jackson was deep in the thunderstorm, arriving our hotel completely drenched.  After a good drying, we head first to the Jackson Museum then to the Silver Dollar Grill in the historic Wort Hotel, enjoying old western ambiance and finally some great food.

The Grand Teton range behind Jackson Lake.
Awesome view of the range with thunder clouds.
Our hike crossing a rapid stream.

Charlie upset at me for taking picture in the rain, scared of the lens getting soaked!

Charlie's girlie chocolate martini and my kettle one tonic at the Silver Dollar Bar.
This crazy bar has over 2,000 silver dollars inlaid on the counter.
Watching the Lakers-Celtics games.  A first in sports watching for us.
