Vancouver, Canada

July 19 & 20, 2010 -Heading out of Seattle, we arrive our charming B n B, the Pacific Spirit Guesthouse in Vancouver.  The drive was about 140 miles heading north from Seattle in some crazy traffic.  Crossing the border was easy, but traffic afterward was at a stand still, just about worse than LA traffic, no joke.  We were warmly welcomed by Bernie, the hostess at our bed and breakfast, situated in a peaceful neighborhood of Vancouver.  Such a nice arrival from the crazy drive.  Our first night, we headed to a popular & yummy vegetarian restaurant called, Naam in the Kitsilano area of Vancouver as well as had a sunset walk on Kitsilano Beach.  The following day, we headed for the UBC museum of Anthropology, a great museum filled with cultural artifacts from around the world and walked Vanier Park where we were lucky to catch a baby Bald Eagle perched on a street light.  Our breakfasts at Pacific Spirit were the best with a full spread of delectable eats and our rooms were more than welcoming and clean with organic chocolates & a free stocked fridge of beers and juice.  For a city, Vancouver was super clean and mostly bum-free, more than all the big cities we've seen in the US.  We felt very safe and loved this actually quite cozy city.

View of Vancouver and of the English Bay in the background from our walk overlooking an enormous beach side olympic lap pool.
Sunset overlooking the Burrad Inlet.
Breakfasts at Pacific Spirit Guesthouse.  So Good!
Wow.  Baby Bald Eagle at Vanier Park, kicking it on a lamp post.
The first bald eagle I've seen, sitting over the city skyline.
Ruffling it's feathers!  Never would I have guessed a Bald Eagle to be a city bird.
The eagle's nest.
UBC Museum of Anthropology.
They had the most glorious collection of carved Totem Poles.
Wow and double wow, I would soo wear all these eskimo boots!!
More amazing!  I was in fringe and fur heaven!
Such an awesome view of Vancouver with the carved Totem poles.
In Canada, a port-a-potty is a Jiffy John.
