April 20, 2010 - Another winding drive day, we headed northeast, closer to our midwest destination of Oklahoma. From highways 281 to the 190 to the 7, we ended 270 tired miles later in the Davy Crockett Natl' Forest. After a long Texas farmland drive with cattle ranches for days & miles to see, we settled for camping off a side road in the forest near the town, Ratcliff. The evening was alive with insects buzzing and mammals trampling on the leafy ground. The Big Dipper was shining bright this evening.
I cannot figure out what type of bird this is - at Pedernales State Park
