Petrified Forest National Park, AZ

April 8, 2010- we biked our way north towards Flagstaff, then east through Navajo Indian country on the 15, where we saw spectacular views of the Painted Desert and multiple buttes scattered in the desert.  We finally camped down at Crystal Forest Museum at the entrance of the Petrified Forest.  We enjoyed a night of star gazing, sleeping without our tent on a cement block of their picnic area.  The following morning, we enjoyed our drive and hike amongst the fossilized trees and beautiful colors of the desert.
Camped at Crystal Forest Museum, with kitschy wooden teepees and a souvenir shop filled with petrified souvenirs.  Charlie enjoying some mac and cheese!
Our gear layed out on the table & our sleep area layed out on cement.
Inside the Petrified Forest, hiking in amazement with all the agatized fossil trees.
View of multi-colored teepee mini buttes in the Painted Desert.
The Painted Desert in the Petrified Forest, with insane mesa views.
More Painted Desert, with views for days beyond the horizon.
