Our camp in Liard River was a popular one, with their hot springs, the second largest in Canada, is visited by many. Charlie and I took the boardwalk trail to the hot springs through the super lush boreal forest, swamp water and muskeg filled with diverse plant and animal life. Crazy to see this tropical paradise amongst the vast expanses of subarctic terrain. Once we arrive the hot pools, we decide to veto the bathing. We were totally turned off upon seeing large crowds of Euros and locals take up too much space, soaking their rotund bodies in the steaming water.
With too much tourists for us, we camp at Liard for only a night and head out for our next Alaska Hwy stop.
Heading out of Summit Lake, we spot our first wildlife crossing! A Stone Sheep.
From the highway, the camouflaged Stone Sheep watch the passer-bys from atop the mountain.
This is our constant spectacular view on the highway, with the endless Canadian Rockies rolling on by.
Cariboo crossing! Aww, a baby!
More mountain view.
Mama and baby moose are up for breakfast too!
After Liard, we see herds of Buffalo taking the road.
More Buffalo chilling on the road!
Video of the fuel truck working their way around the Bison.
