May 29, 2010 - From Brandon, SD via Mitchell & The Badlands, we complete 400 miles to our day's overnight destination, Custer, SD. Situated in the picturesque Black Hills National Forest, we enjoyed walking the rainy evening in this tiny town and staying warm after a long, wet drive.
In Custer is the largest carving in progress, The Crazy Horse Memorial (641 feet long and 563 feet high, carved in the round, with 219-foot high horse’s head).
