Mount Rushmore, The Black Hills SD
May 30, 2010 - Driving 20 miles out of Custer, we head to Mount Rushmore National Park. Never have we seen sooo many tourists comparable to Disneyland drive out to the Black Hills Forest to see the iconic carved men on a stoney mountain. At 5,700 feet, Gutzom Borglum, the famed sculptor started the granite memorial carving on August 10, 1927 and took 14 years to complete.
