July 30 & 31, 2010 - After our 156 mile drive on Hwy 97, we were happy to arrive a wildfire/smoke-free camping stop.
Dawson Peaks, situated outside of Teslin is this picturesque lakeside resort.  Their cabins and campgrounds were totally relaxing.  We enjoyed a wooded and shaded camping spot where we got to enjoy nature and wi-fi alike!  Also, we celebrated Charlie's birthday, surrounded in nature, just the way we like it.  We ate heartily at their restaurant and walked around the tranquil Morley Bay (an off-shoot of Teslin Lake) with 360 superb views of black spruce covered forest.  Dave, the well-traveled resort owner was very hospitable, offering us a place to camp in the future, even when closed after the summer season.

Happy birthday Charlie!

A shot of a dirty Pearl.
Pearl unfortunately is covered in bug juice and bug carcasses from the highway.
this guy Dawson must have been a god in that area since everything is named after him.
